As a wife and mother, this movie made me think a lot about trust and how much we depend on other people. We trust our husbands, doctors, babysitters, gardeners, friends, and the people we allow into our homes and around our children. Most of the time that trust helps us build strong relationships and friendships, like the friendship with Solomon in the movie. He was one of the few people who truly cared and could be trusted.
The title, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, really stood out to me. I understand the meaning that the person caring for and raising children has a lot of influence over a family. As a mother, I can see how true that is.
I also noticed some mistakes made by the main character, Claire. She trusted the nanny too quickly and ignored some warning signs because she wanted help and believed the best in people. While that is understandable, it shows how easily someone with bad intentions can take advantage of a family's trust.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie because it is not only a suspenseful thriller, but it also reminds us to be careful about who we trust. Trust is important, but we should not ignore our instincts when something does not feel right.
